The Winery

Situated on a hilltop at the foot of the picturesque agricultural region of the eastern El Dorado County AVA, Fenton Herriott Vineyards is one of the newest wineries to open in this thriving wine region. The winery tasting room is small, but very inviting, surrounded by vineyards and wonderful local views. There are picnic tables available to enjoy the ambiance.

The Vineyards

Making good use of the well draining volcanic soils of the region, the vineyards have been planted with Syrah, Sangiovese and Gewürztraminer grapes. As the winery's vineyards mature, they supplement their own harvests with grapes grown by other El Dorado foothill vineyards.

The Wines

The winery offers a number of wines, but one of the most exciting is the estate Gewürztraminer, an uncommon wine in the foothills. It is sweet but nicely balanced with acidity that makes the wine bright and refreshing. The floral and tropical fruit aroma is classic Gewurztraminer. Their Barbera is another local favorite that sells out quickly.

The Winemaker

Proprietor Guy Herriott discovered he had a passion for winemaking, and although a newcomer as a winery owner, is dedicated to making fine, handcrafted wines. He shares winemaking duties with Chrissy Loewecke at the boutique winery.
