The Winery

Bree and Mike Adams purchased the estate in 1997. Originally an apple farm, the Adams immediately began its conversion to a vineyard and winery. There is an small, indoor tasting room where sampling the estate wines is done on the top of used oak barrels. There is also an outside tasting area used whenever the weather allows. It has a long, oak bar that runs almost the whole front of the facility. This is a perfect spot to enjoy the views of local farms and sip a little local wine.

The Vineyards

The estate has approximately 27 acres of grapes planted. All grapes used by the winery come from these vineyards except the Sangiovese and French Colombard. The Sangiovese is sourced from local vineyards, and the French Colombard comes from California’s North Coast.

The Wines

The winery is among a growing number of California wineries beginning to make fruit wine. Their Zinfandel Port style wine is often produced utilizing late-harvest grapes, dependent on the yearly harvest.

The Winemaker

Owner Mike Adams is the winemaker at Stone’s Throw. He, along with wife Bree, are also the owners of two locally popular restaurants, Poor Reds and St. Pauli Inn. Due to the boutique size of the winery’s production, the two restaurants and the winery are the only locations where these wines are offered for sale.
