The Winery
Brice Station Winery is located on High way 4 on the way to Bear Valley. This is a little piece of California history having started life as an old stage stop on a homestead, created by a deed signed by President McKinley. The estate also is home to the Quyle Pottery Kiln and Pottery Shop as well as an antique printing press and blacksmith shop. Right outside the tasting room is a patio area with tables to enjoy a picnic or to just relax.
The Vineyards
The vineyards located at the estate are said to be the highest in the Sierra Foothills at 3300 feet in elevation. The sustainable agricultural methods used by the Quayle/Masts, as well as the long warm summer days and cool nights, produce Bordeaux style grape varietals that are more reminiscent of France than California. These grapes are purchased by many of the surrounding wineries.
The Wines
Brice Station specializes in the three Bordeaux style varietals; Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot. The high elevation of the Cabernet Franc vineyard produces elegant wines with flavors of blackberries and violets.
The Winemaker
The winemaker at Brice Station is Bill Bezy.
