The Winery
The winery is located in a beautiful lower foothills valley just south of the town of Mariposa. The drive to the winery is past oak woodland, mountain vistas and pastoral ranch land.
The Vineyards
2001 was the year the first grapes were harvested from the small estate vineyards. The first commercial wines were produced from those grapes the following year, the same year the winery was bonded.
The Wines
The winery makes an award winning Super Tuscan style red wine blend and a locally popular Pinot Noir. The estate is known for very small batch wines which are aged in oak for an extended period of time, increasing the overall complexity.
The Winemaker
Dennis Spalla Morris is the owner of Villa Spalla. An attorney by trade, he practices his true love of winemaking at his Mariposa County winery.
