The Winery

The tasting room from Frog’s Tooth Winery is just off Main Street in the Gold Rush town of Murphys. The tasting room is beautifully decorated in a modern style, with lots or rich woods and wonderful natural light. This is one of the youngest wineries in the foothills, having opened in October 2007. The winery offers logo shirts, hats, and miscellaneous wine accessories for sale in the tasting room.

The Vineyards

The first vineyards were planted on the 67 acre estate in 2003. Today there 10 acres of Petite Sirah, Viognier, Sauvignon Blanc, and Grenache in production. The winery currently purchases most of their grapes from local vineyards, but will transition to estate grapes as the young vines mature.

The Wines

The winery currently specializes in the Rhone varietals of Petite Sirah, Viognier and Grenache. They have also developed a reputation for their incredible Tempranillo, with its great red fruit and large tannin, as well as their Sauvignon Blanc and Bordeaux Blend.
