Awakenings Chapter 6: Convergence, Page 11

“Then we need to eat and get down to the docks as soon as possible.  Did you get a hold of our Coastie friend, Charlie?”

“Yep.  He has found that retiring to the Coast Guard has been pretty boring.  He is looking for a bit of excitement.”

DeMario grimaced. “Just make sure that he wears body armor.  My sixth sense tells me we are in for something the likes of which we haven’t seen since those days in Colombia”

Pete frowned.  “I hope not, we lost several good men there.”

“It is all in the planning.  That is why we need to get down to the docks.  Then we need to stay there after dark so that we can look at firing angles in poor light conditions.  We must plan for the worst and hope for the best. Joe woke up from his nap.  The dreams, while somewhat weaker, had not stopped.  The threads of possible future events, while dimmer, were still coursing through his consciousness.

I had glass of the clairvoyance wine mixed with the divination wine.  I figured out that when I tried small amounts of both wines last night, I could sense and see the earthquake before it happened.  I realized that after the fact.”

“And so you tried some more.  What am I going to do with you?”  Elise had her arms folded now and was tapping her foot, obviously on the edge of anger, but definitely worried.

“Yes, I tried some more.  And I saw some more.”

Elise stopped tapping her toe and leaned forward. “And….”

“Our friend Ed will be in trouble and it will happen in Oakland tomorrow night.  There is trouble brewing at the docks in Oakland.”

“How?”

“It is all very confusing, I saw a lot of stuff, but it is mostly confusing.  I do know that we need to be there and be ready.”

“What can we do?”

“I don’t know, yet.  I am still dreaming the present and looking at the future.” Continued ...
